Just another week in the sun

We've never been to Albufeira in the summer, but if you have I think it would seem a very odd place in the winter. The Algarve is very touristy however it does, by and large, avoid kiss me quick hats and cheap full English breakfasts but nonetheless in any reasonably sized conurbation it is pretty much wall to wall villa's and apartments. In some cases, such as Armacao de Pera, these become huge developments of 10 story plus apartment blocks that in the winter are ghost towns but in the summer I cannot imagine what they're like. I make no judgement, Armacao de Pera is not for us but for some people will be just what they are looking for.
That being said, the main tourist areas of Albufeira are also not our cup of tea but just west of Albufeira at Sao Rafael, where our apartment is, it's just delightful in the winter. It is wall to wall low rise villa's and apartments but is quiet and the coastline is beautiful. Because we're here for a month we're trying not to think of this as a holiday, we're just living somewhere warm and beautiful for a month during the British winter.
Nothing new to report this week, so I'll just share a few piccies of one of the walks just a few minutes from the apartment. I'll show you a map as well in case you're ever around this way.

And the piccies.
That's it for today, just a normal Sunday here in Portugal, the Sunday roast is in the oven, our chums will be making the long journey (100 metres from their apartment to ours) to join us.
Saude!
PS.
I'm very conscious of how lucky we are and the news at the moment is a constant reminder of that with the terrible suffering and injustice in the Ukraine at the minute. My thoughts are with all of the people of the Ukraine.
